ChatGPT and Codex app
The VideoInsights app works inside ChatGPT and Codex with the same account, library and tokens as the web app.
Install the VideoInsights app from the app directory in ChatGPT or Codex and choose Connect. You will be sent to VideoInsights to sign in (or create a free account) and approve the permissions the app requests. After that, just ask ChatGPT about a YouTube video or a file in your VideoInsights library.
The app asks for two permissions: vi.read (see your media library, transcripts and VI-token balance) and vi.analyze (analyze videos and media for you, using VI tokens from your plan). It cannot change your plan, make purchases or delete your files. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what is returned to OpenAI.
Open the apps or connectors settings in ChatGPT or Codex, find VideoInsights and choose disconnect or remove. That revokes the tokens issued to OpenAI. If you prefer, email contact@videoinsights.ai from your account address and we will revoke them for you. Deleting your VideoInsights account also disconnects every app.
Not yet. Upload video and audio files in the web app at chat.videoinsights.ai; they then appear in your library inside ChatGPT and Codex. YouTube videos can be analyzed directly from a link.
Every plan includes a monthly VI-token allowance that resets each billing period. Ask the app for your account to see your balance and reset date, or upgrade on the pricing page.
The custom GPT is being retired in favour of the VideoInsights app, which works in ChatGPT and Codex with the same account. Your VideoInsights library, plan and tokens are unchanged.
